Setting your Nameservers

Your domain name has a featured called name servers. These name servers identify the server that the domain name should "point" to. The Name Servers of your domain name must be changed to the LogicFlame name servers so the domain name will resolve to our servers and to your website. Follow the instructions below.

Your "registrar" is the website where you purchased your domain name. It could be any website that sells domain name registration.

Your registrar's website is where your domain name(s) are maintained. You should have received an email from the registrar when you purchased your domain name that has your username and password to login and manage your domain name.

After logging into your account at your registrar's website, locate a link or button that says "name servers". Enter two name servers - NS1.LOGICFLAME.COM and NS2.LOGICFLAME.COM. If there are any existing name servers set remove them all and add the two LogicFlame name servers. Be sure to save the changes.
The name servers identify the server, in this case, the LogicFlame.com servers. When your domain name is set to the LogicFlame.com name servers, the domain name will resolve to our servers. Our servers then direct the visitor to your website on our servers. (Note: You may have to "unlock" your domain name before changing your name servers. Locate the link in your registrar's domain control panel to unlock it. Be sure to Lock it back up after entering the name servers.)

After you have change your name servers, it generally takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours for the change to take effect. It may work from time to time during this period. This is because all of the internet traffic is run through large terminals, each terminal must update the name servers for it to be connected from any route.

The domain name business has a lot of predators. These predators can sometimes steal a domain
name simply by applying for a transfer. If your domain is not locked, a predator can steal it so after you
make changes, be sure to lock it - there will be a link in your registrar's domain control panel to lock it.

Again, there are predators out there, some really big ones, too. Lately, organizations are ripping off domain names by the millions, literally. They do it by waiting for a domain name to expire, then they order it with a credit line before you get a chance to renew it. They don't have to pay the credit line for 5 days so they cancel the registration in 5 days, then they purchase it again immediately. They have software that does this over and over keeping the domain tied up so you can not get it back and then they never really purchase it. They make money by doing this with thousands of domain names at a time. They put up a link page that they get paid for clicks on (you'll probably click it enough for them to make money). They make a few cents per domain. Thousands and thousands of domains at a time 24 hours a day. Some do purchase the domain name out from under you if the traffic is high, or they purchase it with the intent to charge you hundreds to buy it back. So if you value your domain name, keep a close eye on it and keep it locked.

If you would like for us to change your name servers for you, we will require your login information for your registrar's website. The user name and password is required so you will have to email this information to us. If you do not have your user name and password, we can not get it for you. You must get them from the registrar, then provide them to us.
