If my
web pages are fully "optimized" when will the
traffic arrive?
|
|
Maybe never. Tweaking your page code for SEO is only
one small part of what search engines are looking
for. Yes, it is important to have meta tags properly
set, keywords properly developed, but the single
most important aspect is whether or not someone else
thinks your site content is worth linking to. To get
high in search engine listings, you need a lot of
link backs (sites linking to your). The higher this
number, the higher you will get. Properly developed
pages, consistent "tweaking" and a lot of link backs
will move your site up the ladder - maybe. It is not
fool proof.

Can I
really get at the top for only 49.95 like the SEO
sites are offering?
|
|
NO, at least not to the top with the keywords you
want to use. The way they do it is by setting
obscure keyword phrases that are seldom searched for
and almost never do much more than get a trickle of
traffic for a short time and it's untargeted. You
get what you pay for. |
Is SEO
really worth it?
|
When I develop a web page, I always optimize
them to make them search engine friendly.
There is a lot of conjecture on just what that
means and I'll give you my view. Getting to
the top in search engines is not usually
something that is done over night. For
instance, I sell website design. If you type
WEBSITE DESIGN into Google, you won't find me
dude. You'll find about 250 million pages
related to those keywords so getting to the
top for
me is a waste of time - at least with those
keywords. If you keep in
mind that search engines serve up billions of
results every day, then you have to use some
strategy to get some of those hits. You want
to consider phrases instead of simply
keywords. These phrases can be in your page in
several ways: as meta tags, as image names, as link
names, and so forth but you have to know what you
are doing or you will get banned for keyword
spamming.
You have to be very creative and think of what someone
would search for when they are trying to fine
tune their search. For instance instead of me
using website designer as my keywords, I could
use something like website design firm dallas
texas tx, or other combinations of keywords in
a phrase. There are 27 things I do to a page and
website web to optimize it for searches. The
combination of processes I use has been successful.
If I built your site, then it is initially SEO'd. I do
not offer additional SEO services because it is a
waste of your money and my time. The best thing to
do is follow a process. I will be publishing this
process here on my site in the coming months. |
Page Rank
|
|
Page Rank is a very important thing, sort of. A high Google Page
Rank is the goal, it does mean traffic. But, it takes time,
sometimes, a long time, sometimes it just ain't gonna happen. Your
pages should be designed for Page Rank and several other things
must be done, but initially, you should be more concerned with
proper page and web design based on your keywords and keyword
phrases. Here's why. If you build piccolo's in Tupelo,
Mississippi, then that would be one of your keyword phrases less
the punctuation and common words like in or the. Since there are
fewer piccolo builders in your area, if the surfer searches this
term, you have a higher likely hood of getting clicked
irregardless of your page rank. Page rank does make a difference,
even in specific keyword phrase searches, so it must be optimized
correctly. |
The Bottom Line
|
|
DO optimize your site as good as you possibly
can. DON'T rely on search engines alone for you traffic. DO become
a part of a community, it's the only way and if you join me,
you'll find out why. |
