Why use Excel instead of a Stand Alone Windows application?
Excel and Microsoft Office are the most prolific
software programs in the world. Excel is in about 95% of all offices
and in a lot of homes. Almost everyone is familiar with Excel, a lot
of people already know how to use it, and it costs less to develop
programs this way.
I started with Excel about 10 years ago, before I
built webs or did any graphics work, I used Excel. I love Excel, I
love it's power, and I love that I can make it do almost anything.
I developed a system that I implement into Excel
applications that protect it for distribution. Making it easy for you
to provide you app to others without giving up the code.
These applications are always custom built to do a
given task like price quoting, inventory control, data delivery, and
data calculations. There is a limitless list of possible uses for the
app and I can create what you need. . |

Consistent
processes |
|
Irregardless of
the processes you are using, Excel will make those processes
faster, easier to use and highly protected. Give your staff a
reliable method, not a problem. |

The power
is in the code |
|
The Excel
Applications I create are generally code based - that means all of
the operations and procedures are handled via Visual Basic code
work. A unique graphical design can be included to facilitate ease
of use. |

What
happened to my #&@# formula? |
|
Entering data in Excel can sometimes
mean overwriting important formulas or deleting data by accident. I
develop the applications to be closed - in other words, your people
can only enter data in specific cells or via forms only, eliminating
the possibility of overwriting or loss of data. |

Forms based
data entry / manipulation |
|
Data entry can
be done directly on the sheet in some cases or entirely by custom
forms. This is what makes Excel flexible and powerful. I build a
lot of apps in Excel simply because stand alone apps are too time
consuming, expensive, and difficult to modify. Excel can develop
as your business develops and can be upgraded to fit your business
as it grows and changes. |

Graphical
User Interface |
A lot of people get lost with Excel. Having a consistent
appearance, consistent buttons, links, forms, all make it
easier for the user to operate.
GUI's also improve the perception of your business. How
professional you look goes all the way down to what your
clients see on the monitors in your office. So, I make it
look professional. |
